I’m Erik Hoogendoorn and I work as a Microsoft Cloud Consultant for the Development Division at Delta‑N in The Netherlands.

I started my career back in 1998 as a developer building Windows applications with Visual C++. In 2002, I started doing web development and I’ve been hooked on C#/.NET since it’s inception. When Microsoft brought Azure to the public in 2010 it just seemed to me like the logical next step. Today, I use my skills to help clients get the most out of Microsoft Azure in their ever-changing IT-landscape.

With my increasing knowledge of the Microsoft Azure Cloud Platform and a deep web developers background in C#/.NET, I’m able to service clients with their software engineering and architectural concerns.

I’m a regular visitor of several user groups, namely the Dutch Azure User Group/WAZUG, the Dutch .NET User Group and CocoaHeadsNL.

In my free time I’d like to geek out with iOS/Mac development (hence CocoaHeadsNL) . It has been a lot of fun doing so far and the community around it is really great.

Furthermore, I also find great passion in music. I don’t nearly play enough on my guitar, but when I can, you can hear me play some cool riffs and bluesy tunes. I’ve also made a commitment to visit some great concerts each year.

Last, but definitely not least, I’m a dad and I live together with my girlfriend and 4 children in Noordwijkerhout. A small town near the Dutch coast, about 15 miles away from Amsterdam.

Each day I get to do stuff that inspires and motivates me to learn, teach and create more which in turn provides me with great joy.

Hopefully, this website will help you achieve the same.

Thank you for reading.

Take care.
